WHERE TO LIVE
Hillsborough County offers an assortment of residential neighborhoods. Whatever your
lifestyle, the county is likely to have a community that matches your lifestyle.
Brandon is in Eastern Hillsborough County and has experienced tremendous expansion
over the years. Brandon now has its own regional shopping mall; the once rural town has
matured into a favorite suburban refuge for many bay area residents. There is major
business development with Sable Park and many more business and office parks in the
region. And many new residential developments offer an assortment of home styles and
prices.
Brandon offers easy access to all parts of the county with the excellent road networks,
friendly people, super schools, plenty of shopping, excellent job opportunities, affordable
housing and much more.
Brandon is called a “bedroom community” for executives, professional people, and
Madill AFB personnel, and young families who want the good life in a terrific
community. The towns of Valrico, Seffner, Mango, & Riverview are popular and
considered part of Brandon.
In the county’s Southeastern section is Apollo Beach. Apollo Beach is one of the last
affordable water front community. If you have a boat or just love to watch the sunsets
then this is where you want to be. Apollo Beach is a quiet waterfront community
bordering many miles of Tampa Bay shoreline. By boat you can be in down town Tampa
in minutes, or jump in your boat and have dinner at St. Pete’s pier one. Pilot your boat
under the Skyway bridge for some excellent fishing or relax on some of the most
beautiful island beaches in Tampa Bay. All this is just minutes from Apollo Beach’s
waterfront community.
Eastern Hillsborough’s Plant City, 25 miles east of Tampa, is a fast-growing town and is
known for its country charm and Polo club, and the best strawberries in the state. The
town boasts a renewed historic down town and convenient proximity to both Interstates 4
and 75.
Northern Hillsborough County includes many developments, both established and new,
surrounded by an abundance of shopping, dining and nightlife fun. Many new, master
planned communities of Carrollwood, Lutz, and Citrus Park. In the northeast, New
Tampa is a flourishing area near the University of South Florida and Interstate 75. A
cluster of master-planned communities there, many with golf courses and family friendly
amenities, continue to attract new residents.
South Tampa boast for its charming historic homes, such as Hyde Park; Tampa’s oldest
existing neighborhood, boast bungalows and mansions restored to their original “Florida
Boom” architectural style of the 1920’s and 30’s. Nearby Bayshore Boulevard is
Tampa’s most beautiful thoroughfare, meandering along Hillsborough Bay into downtown. Stately homes and upscale condominium and apartment residences line the
waterfront boulevard, which features the world’s longest continuous sidewalk.
Downtown’s Harbour Island, linked directly downtown by two bridges, is undergoing a
residential boom that includes single-family homes, town homes, condominiums and
apartments.
There are so many special features of the Tampa Bay area and it is truly delightful place
to live.
